Looking for something to do around town this weekend? Check out these great ideas, fun for the whole family…
Pepper Place – kicked off it’s season just a couple of weeks ago. Visit our region’s farming families at the Pepper Place Saturday Market. They grow vegetables and flowers, bake breads and cookies, cakes and pies, tend the bees, and drive into the Lakeview District of Birmingham to sell the fruits of their labors. In addition to farmers, bakers and beekeepers you can enjoy local musicians on two stages while sipping a fresh cup of coffee or enjoying a light breakfast. There is a cooking demonstration at 9:00 a.m. every Saturday morning by Birmingham’s finest chefs. And that’s just the market… While you’re here, don’t forget to check out the shops that have made Pepper Place known as the city’s premier design center. 7am – Noon.
Fresh Market on the Green at Ross Bridge – There are local produce vendors, artists, craftsmen, coffee café, live music, and kid’s activities. And this week only, they will be holding the BarkIt! Market in conjunction with Fresh Market. Guests are invited to bring their favorite furry friend to check out the specialty pet vendors, or perhaps to adopt a rescued pooch! Free to the public.
Free Friday Flicks, Homewood Park – This week in their summer series is Marley and Me. Fun for the whole family with inflatables, and concessions. Don’t forget your blanket or chair. Show begins at sundown.
