-Discussion panels on Star Wars, Star Trek, comics, costuming, fables and fairy tales, gaming and much, much more!

-Cosplay workshops and contest

-Tabletop gaming room

-Guest panelists, professional writers, artists, cosplayers and performers

-Chainmaille workshop (must pre-register)

  • Cafes on the Concourse

Spend your Friday evening enjoying Birmingham’s finest mobile eating and business establishments while walking through one the area’s best attractions! Bring friends and family to gather and celebrate at the inaugural Cafes on the Concourse benefitting Pathways, a United Way agency that serves 1,300 women and children experiencing homelessness in the Birmingham area each year.

The all-ages event will boast live performances from local musicians. Children’s’ activities like inflatables, yard games and more are certain to keep the kiddos busy, and everyone in attendance will have their pick of Birmingham’s very best mobile culinary offerings.

  • Design Dayz: Motion at the McWane Science Center

Capture the momentum of our summer exhibit, Design Zone, and use your skills to build a Rube Goldberg machine, create a marble run, compete in a derby car race, and more!

  • Half Price Summer Fun Days at the Birmingham Zoo

Visit the Zoo during Half-Price Summer Fun Days to take advantage of discounted half-price admission, half-price rides, and $1 hot dogs in the cafes! Guests will have the opportunity to get up-close with the elephants in Trails of Africa, experience Predator Zone, enjoy a Red Diamond Sea Lion Show and be surrounded by and feed* beautiful lorikeets in the Schaeffer Eye Center Lorikeet Aviary. Come learn how the Zoo uses enrichment activities to help keep the animals mentally and physically fit. Guests can also see live animal demonstrations, feedings, chat with the keepers and more! *Additional cost.

Birmingham Barons v. Pensacola at Regions Field

Since a move back to downtown Birmingham from Hoover a few seasons ago, the Birmingham Barons continue to provide one of the finest experiences in all Minor League Baseball year in and out, resulting in the 2016 Don Mincher Organization of the Year. Regions Field has become the top downtown option in the area over spring and summertime; due in large part to a world-class ballpark and creative promotional schedule, the Barons have paced the League in attendance each of the last four seasons, including 418,361 in 2016.
