Firearms are now the leading cause of death among children in the United States. This alarming fact is why experts are encouraging families to learn as much as they can about securing firearms safely and away from children. According to Besmartforkids.org, every year, nearly 360 children in the United States under the age of 18 gain access to a firearm and unintentionally shoot themselves or someone else.
Children’s of Alabama recently partnered with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to discuss firearm safety and show families how to use one tool: Gun Locks.
