Spring Theatre Camps at Red Mountain Theatre

RMT’s Theatre Camps give kids an outlet to use their creativity and imagination in dramatic ways, at all ages and skill levels. Countless studies have shown arts education improves children’s development and academic success. It’s not just about singing and dancing. It’s about teaching them teamwork, time management, focus, discipline, confidence and so much more!

Play Making: AGES 4-6. Budding artists are allowed to let their imaginations run wild while they creatively explore theatrical storytelling. These half-day classes are designed to cultivate inventiveness as students learn the basics of theatre through collaboration and creative play.

Spring Sprouts: AGES 7-8. Sprouts is a preparatory education program for young people wishing to learn performance skills. During the week-long camp, students will learn 3-5 production numbers to be performed at the end of the week for friends and family. Students learn discipline and memorization skills that they can take with them to their scholastic work.

Blast Camps: AGES 9-14 Dip your toe into the theatre world! These fast-paced camps ask students to learn an entire 30 minute original script, music, and choreography in five days — then share with a supportive audience of family and friends.

Spring Break Art Camp at Thomas Andrew Art

Spring Break camp for kids ages 8 – 11 years old and 12 – 15 years old. Your child will learn about the life and styles of artists such as Bob Ross, Jackson Pollock, Pablo Picasso, Henry Matisse, and more. They will work on a different project each day, creating with paint on canvas, wood, fabric, as well as clay, wire, and cut paper.

Limited to 8 kids only per session.
Days: Monday – Thursday, March 25 – 28
Times: There will be 2 sessions per day. Kids ages 8 – 11 years old will come in the mornings from 9 until 12 noon. Kids ages 12 – 15 will come in the afternoons from 1 until 4 pm.

Spring Break Camp at Mcwane

Registration for Spring Break Camp 2024 is now open!  So get ready to grow your mind this season.

Spring Break Camp dates are March 25-29, 2024.

Half-Day Camp: 4K–Kindergarten

(Campers must be registered in their current grade)

For Spring Break 2024, our little scientists will explore backyard science, go on a treasure hunt, learn about recycling, code their own future and so much more.

Camp fees are $50 per day, and McWane Science Center Members receive a $10 discount.  Membership must be active on the date of the camp to receive a membership discount.

All fees are due upon registration.

Full-Day Camp: Grades 1–6

(Campers must be registered in their current grade)

Our older learners will spend their days exploring our world, engineering for tomorrow, solving crimes, and embracing their inner scientist.

Bootcamp and Intensives
AGES 9-18 These intensives are built to be the stepping stone to larger achievements. Students will concentrate on increasing their triple threat skills: acting, dancing, and singing.  *Please note that attending a Broadway Bootcamp is a prerequisite to audition for the RMT Performing Ensembles. If you’re aiming for the stars, wherever that is, this is a great place to start!

2024 Festival of Tulips at American Village

Opening weekend for the 2024 Season Festival Tulips will be February 24th!

The American Village Festival of Tulips will once again provide a fantastic outing for clubs, groups, and families. The event is perfect for motorcoach tours as well. The field of over 100,000 tulips, with replicas of some of America’s most historic places as a backdrop, creates a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity, so bring your camera! The Festival of Tulips at the American Village will be open Monday-Friday 10-4, Saturday 10-4, and Sunday 12-4 as long as the flowers are in bloom (depending on weather). The Village advises that you check their website (www.americanvillage.org) and Facebook page for current availability.

Admission to the Festival of Tulips is $5 per person, free to veterans, active military and children ages 4 and under.  *Enter the front gate and follow the signs to the parking lot directly beside the tulip field. You’ll pay admission and pay for the tulips you pick at the field. Tulips are $2.00 each, and include both flower and bulb.

*Admission to American Village is separate.

In addition to experiencing the tulips, there will be scheduled entertainment in the tulip field by American Village costumed historical interpreters. And food truck will be onsite each Saturday.

Big Machines Day at McWane science center

Big machines day is back at the McWane science center! Big machines day showcases the largest and most captivating heavy machinery up close. This event creates a fantastic opportunity for all ages to learn about engineering and the machinery put on display. Craneworks is putting on a fascinating showcase of a crane, dump truck, backhoe, scissor lift, and telehandler all for kids to interact with and enjoy!
