Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on it’s way.. and that means lots of Birmingham Area Easter Egg Hunts! Here’s a list of where you can find some egg-citing happenings around town! If you know of a hunt you’d like to see on our list, please email and let us know!

Avondale United Methodist Church
Join us in the Avondale Park Rose Garden for the annual community Easter egg hunt and cookout. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served beginning at about 12:15. The official egg hunt kicks off at 12:45, Sunday March 20th.

The rose garden is on 40th Street, behind Avondale library.

All in the community are welcomed.

Birmingham

Caldwell Park
Give your kids a treat they will treasure! Join us on Saturday, March 26th at 11:30 am in Caldwell Park. There will be games for kids of all ages, a cake walk for grown-ups, and FREE PHOTOS with the Easter bunny. The event is FREE and open to the public. Sponsored by First Lutheran Church.

Cottontail Express – Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum
Hop aboard the Cottontail Express for a ride to Peter Cottontail’s meadow! Join in the fun at the meadow as we hunt for Easter eggs. A bounce house, temporary tattoos, coloring station, and a sandbox provide lots of family fun.  Bring your camera to take photos with Peter Cottontail!

Upgrade to a caboose ticket or locomotive ticket for a memorable experience and get an up close look at railroad operations!

The Cottontail Express train ride takes approximately 1 ½  hours including train ride and meadow activities. Please arrive 1 hour prior to your departure time to pick up your tickets at the Calera Depot, use the restrooms at the Gift Shop, and to get in line at your boarding location.

Make sure to visit the exhibits in our Depot Museum, our collection of railroad equipment in Clark Yard, our working Signal Garden, and our Gift Shop!

The Homewood Easter Egg Hunt is for toddlers up to ten years of age. Children will hunt for eggs with children of their own age group. There is also a section for children with special needs.

FREE Alien Egg Hunt!!!!! Bring your basket for a fun, unique, “glow in the dark” Easter Egg Hunt experience. Stay after to play Laser Combat!

Please note: Egg hunt limited to the first 100 kids to arrive each day. Egg hunts will be held each day March 22, 23, and 24 at 5:00 PM. Any age child can participate, but ages will not be separated. Adults may accompany children under 5. Children participating must behave in a neighborly fashion. Laser Combat (not required for the egg hunt) is suitable for most children ages 5 and up. Younger children can play with an adult.
