If you’ve been mourning the closing of Jackson’s in Homewood, fear not – that awesome patio is open for business once again!

Tostadas is ready to bring you a variety of “flat tacos” and other Tex-Mex food favorites. We recently got to visit Tostadas and I’m still thinking about that skillet queso flight!

In case you don’t know, tostadas are basically flat tacos and Tostadas has a variety of them. I opted for the Nashville Hot Chicken, which was just the right amount of heat and paired with grilled peppers. I swiped a bite of Angie’s Honey Jalapeño and the sweet and spicy combo was delicious.

The menu also boasts several entrees I want to try including the Street Grits (shrimp and grits is never the wrong answer) and Fiesta Salad of fresh greens served in a fried bowl (but it’s salad so it’s still healthy!) and topped with guacamole, roasted corn, peppers and queso. I somehow forgot to try the Cayenne Chocolate Cake but it looks delicious so will have to go back for that! Well, that and the margaritas. But Tostadas isn’t just for adults – kids will love it, too!

The kids’ menu includes several favorites including nachos, burritos, and chicken fingers, and cheese dip, rice or beans, and ice cream come with the meal! The kids’ menu has a few games to keep kids busy until the food comes (which was pretty quickly when we were there!) but one they’re finished with it, find steps on the restaurant’s website for turning it into a paper football so they can play on the patio’s paper football table. If Corn Hole or giant Connect Four is more their style, Tostadas has those, too! Any place that keeps kids busy so adults can actually finish their meals is a win in my book!
