Scarecrows in the Gardens!

Ready to get into the Halloween mood? Take the kids out to Aldridge Gardens to see all of this years Scarecrows. They are super creative and BirminghamMommy.com even has a Cinderella on display!

So take your little Princess or Prince out there to check them out!

Aldridge Gardens is located in Hoover, off of Lorna road. Scarecrows will be on display through October 31.

Crestline Street Festival

Don’t miss the Crestline Street Festival on Saturday, October 3rd coordinated by MAFIAoZA’s to include pizza, children’s activities, music, and fun for the entire family! Activities will be set up outside the restaurant and into the First Commercial parking lot. Competitions will include wine relay, meatball & sauce competition, bodybags tournament, guess the number of Red Bulls in a Chevy to win the car!, and prizes will be awarded. Information about wine and Italian food will be available for those that are interested. Sponsorships and vendor spaces are available. Contact Mafiaoza’s for more information. Funds raised will benefit the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce.

Whistle Stop Festival.

Fall Festivals are popping up all over the city right now. One of our favorites happening this weekend is the Whistle Stop Festival in Irondale.

It’s an all American tradition – a street festival of fun, food and entertainment.

This year in the spirit of stepping back in time, they will be adding old time children’s activities like checkers, hopscotch and a cake walk on the historic North side, as well as Children’s activities and more on the Southside.

This Saturday September 26th.
Kicking off at 9am with entertainment lasting until 10pm

Need a good excuse to get outside? How about enjoying FREE admission to all National Parks, is that a good excuse? Well, National Lands Day is making it happen.

Pack up the family and head on out, hike, picnic and just enjoy being in the great outdoors.

Greek Festival!

Opa! Holy Trinity – Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral will be hosting it’s 37th Greek Festival, today (Thursday) through Saturday night, the 26th.

Head down to the festival and surround yourself in the traditions of Greece. Enjoy some phenomenal food, and live musical and dance performances.

Don’t have time to thoroughly enjoy the festival? Not a problem, they have a drive thru open from 10:30 – 7pm, so put your “Mac attack” on the back burner and get you some great food on your lunch break, they’re making it too easy!

It's Time for the Sidewalk Film Festival!

Grab the kiddos and head out to the Sidewalk Film Festival this weekend. The kiddy venue at the Rushton Theatre at the McWane Center will be full of children’s programming on Saturday and Sunday….so – get some tickets or a wristband and get out there already! (Children’s venue access is on 3rd Ave next to the Alabama Theatre)

Once the kids have had their fill, drop them off with the sitter and head back out to see a fresh selection of quality independent films – all steps away from each other in different venues throughout the downtown area. A spectacular weekend is waiting!
