One thing we love every Spring (and Fall) is to take a Patio Tour for lunch or dinner, it’s almost become a game to see how many patios we can fit in before the weather gets so hot we go running for the comforts of the Air Conditioned Indoors. Last week a BirminghamDad reached out asking about kid friendly restaurants with patios and play areas and it got us thinking, what are the best patios around town to enjoy dinner and maybe an adult beverage while the kiddos play.. Here’s what we’ve come up with!
5 Most Kid Friendly Patios To Enjoy in Birmingham
Twisted Root Burger in Vestavia
Twisted Root Birmingham is the Ham’s best-kept secret tucked away on Rocky Ridge Road. They have a patio dedicated to the kids (big and small), so they can run amuck while you hunker down with a burger and one of their many local craft beers or specialty drinks.
The Cowfish Burger Sushi Bar
The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar is the first true sushi burger bar, offering an eclectic menu mix of over-the-top burgers, innovative sushi and their very own signature Burgushi. With a great patio area, outside games and Wednesday night sushi rolling for kids, it makes Cowfish one of our favorite spots for a dinner out! (Kids 10 and under eat for free every Wednesday for lunch and dinner (all day) with a paying adult.)
Moss Rock Tacos and Tequilas
Tacos and tequila! That’s the simplicity and the beauty of Moss Rock Tacos & Tequila. After a long day of playing at the Moss Rock Preserve in Hoover, it’s perfect to relax with a delicious margarita and a plate full of tacos. They have a great outdoor area with their rooster, Taco-Doodle-Doo. Moss Rock Tacos and Tequilas frequently hosts a Kids Zone with a bounce house and outdoor games. (Kids eat free on Mondays, 1 per adult $10 purchase)
Handmade pizzas, real Italian dishes all with fresh ingredients. Their charming patio backs right up into Patriot park, making this a favorite spot where kids can run free while waiting on dinner to arrive!
The concept behind MELT is simple: a modern twist on a classic comfort food. The menu is approachable and the food is scrumptious. There is something about going back to basics that just makes sense. Grilled cheese sandwiches put smiles on faces, especially kids! From their infamous angel wings photo station, to their hula hoops and games, Melt is the perfect spot for some outdoor dining while the kids keep busy!
So, if you’re a patio dining expert and have some other great spots we need to know about, drop us a comment and let us know, we would love to check them out!!
