Birmingham Area Spring Break Camps 2017

Spring Break for Birmingham is just around the corner! Can you believe how quickly this year is going by? It’s Christmas one minute and then the next thing you know know its February and spring break planning is in full swing!

Registering early will help guarantee your child a spot so you don’t have to worry about last minute arrangements. Take the time and head on over to the camp sponsors websites and make sure you find the best fit for your child.

Spring Break Camps for Birmingham 2017

Birmingham Zoo Freestylin’ Camp

Dates: March 27-31, 2017

Time: 8:30-3:30

Prices: Members: $50 Per Day   non-Members: $60 Per Day

Lunch and snacks are included in the registration fee.

Early Care: $4 Per Day

7:30 am – 8:15 am

Extended Care: $8 Per Day

3:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Freestylin’ is a new way to do Zoo Camp! Campers will have the freedom choose their activities throughout the day. A few options might include Zoo hikes, games, ride the train, carousel or slide, create crazy crafts, see an animal show or relax and watch a movie! Freestylin’ is designed for your camper by your camper.

As an added benefit to Spring Break fun at the Birmingham Zoo – The all new Jaguar Exhibit will be opening and you’ll be able to meet Khan, our new Jaguar!

Gross Out Camp – Ruffner Mountain Nature Center

WHAT IS GROSS? To many is means very obvious, glaring, unconcealed.
WHAT IS CAMP? A gathering of children in a woody place with hiking, swimming, crafts, nature studies, and outdoor games.

WHAT IS GROSS OUT CAMP? MUDDY, SLIMY, SMELLY, WET, STINKY, SWEATY, TIRED, DIRTY, HAPPY, EXCITED, ENGAGED, AMAZED…AND THAT’S JUST THE CAMPERS!

Fresh Air Family is offering their award winning Gross Out Day Camp in the Birmingham area. Expert naturalists will lead students in the great outdoors to explore the best, worst, and the grossest nature has to offer! Activities include hikes, creek stomping, crafts, journaling, and live animals!Location: Ruffner Mountain
Grades: Entering 1-4
Dates: March 27-31
Time: 9-5p.m.

Cost: $200 per week for members, $225 for non-members
Camp will be held from 9am-5pm. Also, there is before and after care from 8am until 6pm for $25.
Please bring your own lunch, snack and water bottle.

Kid’s Nature Photography Camp- Oak Mountain State Park

Dates: March 28th-30th, 2017

Time: 8:30AM to 3:30PM

Fee: $75 per participant

Mason Music Spring Break Music Camp for Beginners (ages 6-9) 

Dates: March 27th-31st

Time: Cahaba Heights Studio 9:00AM to 12:00PM and Greystone Studio 1:00PM to 4:00PM

Fee: $175

For students who have little or no experience with music and may be wondering which instrument is right for them, Mason Music offers a half-day music camp the week of Spring Break that teaches students the basics of how to sing and play the guitar, piano, drums and violin. Register by March 17, 2017.

Spring Break Ice Skating Camp – Pelham Civic Complex

Basic Ice Skating Skills Camp

Moana Themed Camp features 9 hours of instruction time, 2 1/2 hours of arts and crafts, snack and lots of fun!

Spring Break Blast – Red Mountain Theatre Company

Students learn a repertoire of musical theatre songs and dances during a week-long workshop, culminating in a performance for family and friends. This opportunity is open (non auditioned) to interested students ages 7-12.
