Leeds Downtown First Thursday
Thursday, September 5, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Great entertainment, food trucks, street vendors, car cruise-in, downtown shopping on the Parkway and just a wonderful time of building community.
Live performers at the gazebo on the corner of 9th Street and Parkway include Miss Leeds Area Charity Bowden, Eric Watters and Mandi Rae. Charity is our current Miss Leeds Area and blessed our hearts with her music at the May First Thursday event. Back by popular demand, she will perform again. Eric Watters is a familiar face performing all over the greater Birmingham area including Rails and Ales, Work Play and more. Eric lives in Leeds and is excited to perform at First Thursday. Mandi Rae is also back with a genuine taste of the sincere, straightforward narrative and powerful songwriting voices of the real south.
The car cruise-in will include the Mountain Brook Driving Club. The cruise-in is not limited so please bring out your favorite antique or specialty car or bike. Motorcycles welcome. All antique and special cars, bikes and trucks are invited to cruise-in and there is no charge to participate.
Food trucks/vendors include Pazzo Big Slice Pizza, Dixieland Funnel Cakes, Frutta Bowls, Sunshine Lemonade, Chick-fil-A and Ken Waites Shaved Ice. There will be plenty of street vendors lined up for this month’s street fest and don’t forget about our downtown shops who will be staying open a little later for your shopping convenience.
Street Fest activities will begin on Parkway Drive at the library on the corner of 8th Street and extend to 9th Street at City Hall. Live entertainment with our performers will take place at the gazebo.
Plan to bring your family and enjoy street vendors, food trucks, entertainers, car cruise-in, downtown shopping on the Parkway and more. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs and just hang out. Also, invite your friends and help get the word out.
This is a free event hosted and sponsored by the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Leeds and Leeds Redevelopment Authority.
