Winter Camps at Red Mountain Theatre Company

Registration is now open for Winter Camps at Red Mountain Theatre Company! Let your little one’s imagination run wild this winter! Red Mountain Theatre’s Winter Camps develop confidence and inspire creativity and an interest in the arts.

There are multiple week-long, half-day and full-day sessions to choose from. This year’s Winter Camps run from December 20-24 and December 27-31

Winter camp sessions will include the following classes:

Play Making: The Snowy Day – Dec. 20 -24, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Ages 4-6, $180)

Aspiring artists are allowed to let their imaginations run wild while they creatively explore theatrical storytelling. This class also cultivates inventiveness as students learn the basics of theatre through collaboration and creative play. This week’s theme is based on the popular children’s book The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.

Play Making: Paw Patrol – Dec. 20 -24, 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. (Ages 4-6, $180)

Description: During this class, students will practice the art and skill of theatrical storytelling. These half-day classes also teach inventiveness as students learn collaboration and teamwork. In this week’s class, students will pretend to work alongside the amazing rescue pups, solving problems and saving the city!

Winter Sprouts – Dec. 20 – 24, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Ages 7-8, $300)

Sprouts is a preparatory education program for young people wishing to learn performance skills.  During the week-long camp, students will learn 3 production numbers to be performed at the end of the week for friends and family. This activity also teaches students discipline and memorization skills that will influence their scholastic responsibilities. Sprouts is designed to be a pre-performing ensemble program, but it is not a pre-requisite to audition for the performing ensembles.

Blast Camp: Holiday Sleuths – Dec. 20 -24, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Ages 9-14, $300)

Blast Camps are engaging, week-long camps in which students experience musical theatre performance. They build confidence by rehearsing a short script written specifically for RMT and performing it at the end of the week in front of a supportive community of family and friends. Through this process, students learn discipline and memorization skills they can use in their scholastic work. This week’s script is Holiday Sleuths. It’s Christmas Eve, and the kids of Birmingham are anxiously awaiting Santa’s arrival.  When he doesn’t show up, they know something must be wrong.  They put on their detective hats to solve the mystery of the missing Kris Kringle!

Play Making: Trolls Holiday Tour – Dec. 27 – 31, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Ages 4-6, $180)

Young artists can exercise their imagination while they experience theatrical storytelling. These half-day classes teach the basics of theatre through high-energy collaboration and creative play. In this week’s class, students will pretend to go on tour with the rock ‘n’ roll stars, the Trolls!

Play Making: New Year’s Celebration – Dec. 27 – 31, 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. (Ages 4-6, $180)

Budding artists are allowed to let their imaginations run wild while they creatively explore theatrical storytelling. These half-day classes are designed to cultivate inventiveness as students learn the basics of theatre through collaboration and creative play. In this week’s class, students will read books, act out stories and learn music for a grand New Year’s celebration.

Theme Camp: Hogwarts Yule Ball – Dec. 27 – 31, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Ages 7-12, $300)

By cultivating original characters, students will explore what it would be like to attend Hogwarts and celebrate the Yule Ball. They will be sorted into houses, participate in classes and create their own story set in this magical school. Through imagination, we will travel beyond the pages of Harry Potter books.
