DESCRIPTION:Be a link in the human chain against domestic violence & join AshaKiran\, Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ACADV)\, Crisis Services of North AL\, Free 2 Be\, HSV-Madison Co Human Trafficking Task Force\, Victim Services of Cullman\, Kelley’s Rainbow\, Penelope House\, The Lighthouse and 2nd Chance on October 8th 2PM – 3PM to make a stand against domestic violence! See where a human chain is taking place near YOU! \nACADV non-profit organizations throughout Alabama are working together in solidarity synchronizing human chain events to occur simultaneously across the state of Alabama in their own counties\, on the same day\, at the same time and repeat the same pledge making a stand against domestic violence – a truly positive and inspiring message to represent our state. Subsequently\, our local citizens\, social groups and non-profits present will link hands to form a human chain and together make the pledge to take a stand against domestic violence. These are FREE events and the public is welcome to join their diverse community organizations that have gathered to support and make a stand against domestic violence. \nNEW THIS YEAR…AshaKiran Youth & Art Essay Contest: Domestic violence can happen to ANY person regardless of age\, culture\, religion\, education\, social class\, sex or physical ability. We hope this contest will encourage students (10 – 18 years old) to strive to value and respect all people regardless of their skin color\, their physical abilities or the language that they speak. In recognition of October’s National Domestic Violence Awareness Month\, AshaKiran invites you to create artwork or write an essay for this year’s theme: ‘Why Culture Sensitivity Matters’ All submissions will be on display at the human chain. \n#ALHumanChainAgainstDV
