The South’s craziest parade kicks off at 11:01 a.m. on the streets of Highland Avenue in Birmingham’s Southside. Then\, spend the day in Caldwell and Rhodes Parks with friends\, pets\, arts & crafts\, kid’s activities\, and a lineup of great bands. Oh yes\, we have plenty of food and beverages\, and collectible Do Dah Day t-shirts. \nAll proceeds benefit local animal charities. \nIf you want a chance to win a fabulous prize\, sign up to compete in one of our PARADE CATEGORIES:\n•Best Float\n•Best Team\n•Largest Pet\n•Best Movie-Themed Pet or Pet/Human Group\n•Best Dressed Pet\n•Best Pet/Owner Look-Alike \nFree admission for spectators and festival attendees. \nParade entry fees:\nFun Walker $5 per walker\nAnimal Prize $10 per animal per category\nTeams $10 per person\nTeams with Car $10 per person + $15 per car\nCars $15\nMotorcycles $10\nFloats $20\nPolitical Team/Car/Float $50 per candidate \nParade at 11:01 a.m. The parade route follows Highland Ave. westbound\, past Rushton & Rhodes parks and ends at Caldwell Park.\nFestival in the Caldwell and Rhodes Parks after the parade.
