DESCRIPTION:Help remember\, honor and thank America’s veterans and active military. Many gave the last full measure of devotion for the liberties of this Nation. Tour the National Veterans Shrine and Register of Honor and experience the stories of our veterans who have borne the burden of the toils of war and keeping the peace. \nWho are they\, what did they do for our country\, what do we owe them? \nThese are the everyday heroes who are in our families\, churches\, and communities. They live modest lives\, most feel they did nothing extraordinary\, and they seek no special recognition for doing their duty. Yet each of them was prepared to give their all. \nEvery one of these heroes – these veterans – is someone’s child. They came from all walks of life to answer our country’s call. They served in war and peace; lives were changed. They became a band of brothers\, and sisters. They all have stories that must be told. \nWe have a full day of activities planned\, including historical vignettes\, musical salutes\, reenactments\, games\, ceremonies\, a Gold Star Salute to the Fallen\, and a wreath laying at the Veterans Shrine.
