We wanted to take a moment today to reflect on some of the powerful words spoken by Martin Luther King, Jr. A man who’s policy of nonviolence was a dominate force in the Civil Rights Movement. He was a man of hope and inspiration to many.
This is a great day to talk to your kids about who MLK Jr was and what he stood for, especially the principle of loving humankind. Here are a few quotes that can lend some inspiration.
“Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.”

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
“Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”

“At the center of non-violence stands the principle of love”
“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”
