DESCRIPTION:This will be a great time to bring the family and enjoy a day discovering the culture and contributions of Native Alabamians. See Native American life take shape through demonstrations of flintknapping\, pine needle basket weaving\, and pow wow dancing\, along with activities like leaf pounding\, bead weaving on looms\, corn grinding\, gourd crafting\, fishing\, and pottery. Children can try their hands at Stick Ball and other games. Hear the sounds of drums and the highlight of the day – performances by Native American Pow Wow dancers. Authentic Native American items will be available for purchase like jewelry\, bead work\, and Choctow foods and crafts. \nAdmission at the gate is $10 for visitors 18 and older or $5 for children 2 to 17. Children’s admission includes take-home crafts\, while supplies last. Children younger than 2 are free.

DESCRIPTION:Railroad Park’s 5th annual Trucks by the Tracks food truck festival\, which will be held September 18\, 11am-5pm. Thirty food trucks and carts will serve up tasty favorites\, from hot chicken and coastal seafood to donuts and ice cream. 1st Avenue South in front of the park between 16th Street and 18th Street will be closed to traffic and turned into a pedestrian area lined with food trucks. This year food carts will be set up along Powell Avenue\, extending the food offerings throughout the park.\n\nTickets to Trucks by the Tracks\, Railroad Park’s annual fundraiser\, cost $5 in advance\, $7 at the gate plus credit card convenience fees. Children under 12 receive free entry. Two entry gates will be located on 1st Avenue South at 17th Street and 18th Street. The VIP section gets an overhaul for 2016\, moving under the 17th Street Plaza for additional seating\, plenty of shade\, and a private bar with shorter lines. The VIP section will be fully stocked with free snacks\, Coca Cola products\, and water. A limited number of VIP tickets are available\, costing $35 in advance\, $45 at the gate\, or $120 in advance for a group of four.
