SUMMARY:Storybook 5K and Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd annual Storybook 5K and Fun Run\, hosted by the Junior Board of the Vestavia Hills Library Foundation\, is a fundraiser for the Children’s Department of the Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest.  The 5K will begin at 8:00 am with the 2 Mile Run  beginning at 8:10 am and the One Mile Fun Run following at 9:00 am.   Official chip timing is available for 5K and 2 Mile Run participants.  This all ages event will be fun for the entire family as well as all members of our community and the greater Birmingham area. In addition to the 5K race\, 2 mile run\, and Fun Run\, there will be live music\, bounce house and slide\, storybook characters\, ballet dancers in costume\, face painting and complimentary food and drinks!  New this year\, run or walk with your four-legged family members by choosing the Run\, Walk\, or Wag option for an additional $5 per dog! Participating dogs must be leashed at all times. Packet pick-up will be at Vestavia Hills City Hall on Friday\, October 26 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Register by October 15 to receive an event t-shirt!

Using evidence-based resources as our guide\, this class will: \n– Present a general overview of both the risks and benefits of VBAC\n– Answer commonly asked questions about VBAC\n– Address factors that may influence the success of a trial of labor after a cesarean (TOLAC)\n– Provide you with further resources to assist you/your clients in making informed decisions about birthing after a previous cesarean \nThis class is free and open to the public. However\, because of the nature of this particular course\, we do ask that you leave children at home for this event. Registration is required to attend. The meeting will take place in the Fitzgerald Room on the Theatre Level of the Hoover Library.

Adults & kids 2 and under are free. \nThe annual fundraiser will be held on the school grounds and will offer family-friendly entertainment\, food\, activities\, and crafts. \nAttendees can enjoy inflatable structures\, seasonal crafts\, face painting\, and other fun activities such as cake\, candy\, and soda walks. Guests can also check out a pumpkin patch and a hay ride. The event will feature performances by the Blue Bird Choir and the OMES Cheer Squad. \nA variety of treats will be available for purchase including Marco’s Pizza and a $7 Chick-Fil-A lunch combo. Pandy’s Food Truck will feature funnel cakes and fried Oreos. Steel City Pops and Kona Ice will be on hand for tasty frozen treats. Local vendors will be on site selling crafts and other items. \nThe event will feature college football games on large screen TVs thanks to Direct TV\, so that fans won’t have to miss out on watching game day events. \nAs the school’s largest annual fundraiser\, the Fall Fun Festival includes a silent auction\, with the ability to view auction items online and make advance bidding. \nAll proceeds from the fall fun fest are dedicated to the benefit of the students.
