We are lucky to be sharing an event of the week, that actually lasts all week long! It’s Elephant Week at the Birmingham Zoo!
The Zoo is celebrating its growing herd of African bull elephants with its inaugural Elephant Week starting Monday, June 20 and ending Sunday, June 26. Elephant Week activities offer members and visitors opportunities to chat with animal keepers and get an up-close look at these magnificent animals, all while learning why African bull elephants are threatened and what the Zoo is doing to help protect this species.
If you haven’t been out to see the new Trails of Africa yet.. (Shame on you) now is the perfect chance to do that, while taking advantage of all the extras this week!
Here are some of the things you can look forward to:
Tuesday: Learn about African elephants through interactive African elephant biofacts.
Wednesday: Get educated on African bull elephant conservation efforts with a keeper talk.
Thursday: Discover the essence of Trails of Africa with animal greetings and enjoy a special treat (while supplies last).
Friday – Sunday: Experience Boma encounters and other activities like Wildlife Shows, Giraffe Feedings and Predator Zone.
