Craft: 4th of July Fireworks

As we’ve been marking through activities on the summer fun list, we thought now was as good a time as any to do some painting, and since the 4th of July is just a few days away, we got all Patriotic with this activity, painting up some Fireworks.

This is a fun little craft and pretty easy too!

What You’ll Need:

Bendy Straws and/or Plastic Forks
Construction Paper
Paint (any colors you choose, we went with just red, white and blue)
Tape

What You’ll Do:

Bundle up about 5 bendy straws and hold together with tape.
Stretch the bendy part out all the way and arrange to look like a burst.
Dip the bendy end in paint and press down on your construction paper. You may have to press some of the straws down individually to get them completely on the paper.

Remove and do another (or as many colors as you like)

We made one plate and straw set for each color, it was easier to share. The colors will get mixed up but that’s the beauty of doing fireworks, anything goes.

If you want to use a fork, just dip it in paint and press down on paper in a circle pattern.

The end results are festive and kind of frame-able

Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July!
